Roasty Toasty!!

Britt and I went up the block on Friday, and noticed that the garage door was STILL open! Inside the garage, we saw that they had delivered the GIB, and lots of it!!! Approximately 9000kg to be precise!

There was also a box of goodies, and some cornice.


They had done some of the insulation in the house, starting with the garage.

Mike, Britt and I went up the block today, and they had finished all the external wall insulation, and had also completed the ceiling insulation (no pics, I didnt take the camera with me, because I was wearing bogan clothes, and we could NOT have any photographic evidence of that laying around anywhere, for people to blackmail me with later!!!). We also put in all the Pink Batts that we received in delivery on Friday (another reason Britt and I went up the block!!)

Its been a few days....

but here is an update on the house!!! :D

I took Britt up there on Monday, and she loves the house :) She loved the size of the property as well and wants me to buy her a horse :| Here is a pic of Britt in the front entrance area of the house!

We didn't go back to the house again, until today. The view from one of our neighbours gate was amazing! The sun was shining, and the house just looked so awesome!


We got to the house, and the garage door was open... hmmm..... Britt and I went inside, and the shower base was laid down. It looked like they had put it in, it wasn't until later, when the plumber showed up, that I saw that it wasn't put in. He had other things that he was installing as well, so will see what that was on Friday!

Britt and I walked to the Formal Lounge room, and AMAZINGLY the Picture window was in! Isn't it STUNNING?!! :D I just love it!!!

This window seemed to take forever to be put into place for some reason....

We also found some insulation batt's in the house.

The air-con people had been back to do some more wiring for us. They also installed a switch plate on the dining room wall.


I also checked on the roof tiles, to see if they had been painted yet, and some of them were, they seem to have painted the ridges, but not all of the valley's, so I am sure they will be back to paint the valleys as well... I hope.....

Britt and I checked out the phone line, and Telecom in their ultimate awesomeness (who promised our phone would be connected by "JUNE 15TH AT THE LATEST"....)hmmm... moving on....... still have not connected the phone line, so they will be getting a phone call tomorrow, and I am sure, Mike will not hold back this time!! Losers... I swear, the win Loser Telephone Company of the Year award.......

And there we have it! Britt also made her way up to the top corner of the paddock (Brave girl, she didn't have gumboots on!!! lol), to see if she could see the Sky Tower from our place today as it was such a lovely sunny day, and she could, so she was pretty stoked with that!

Goodness me.....

A few things happening up at the block today!

First things first, I picked up a key so that we can put in extra insulation into some of the bedrooms in the house, hopefully next weekend!

First thing I noticed on site, was .... you guessed it, my favourite.... A LITTLE DIGGER!!!!!!!!!

The Septic people were there putting in the septic, and the effluent water system. We have to have one of those really expensive septic systems because our Council, in its infinite wisdom, have decided that we will have a 7 bedroom house.... whatever!






The bricks on the house are looking so awesome! I am really pleased with the colours that Mike and I have chosen!



I was rather annoyed to see that the Glaziers had put in THE WRONG WINDOW!!!!! I mean ok... like, they just had the window frame in there, but they had to go that little bit extra mile, and put the glass in..... rang up the Project Manager, and he said its so that they can get some of the moisture out of the house, so its a temp window..... so they can put up the gib soon..... but still.... they havent even put in some of the other windows, so I do not see the point...... oh the joys of building!! They also still have not finished making our Picture Window (how long does it take to make a glass window?), so when the new window is ready , they are going to take out the glass from this window, which also means they cannot finish the bricks in the window either.....

We are still having a joyous time with Telecom, installing our phone line..... They have made a start on it, and SAY they will have it completed by 15th of June.... I guess, that this wire just has to stick out of the ground for a few weeks, to taunt us, and let us know we cannot have a phone line into the house just yet... hmmm...

SOOOOoooo, after all this, I went and had some lunch with Mike. Which was really nice :D and then headed home (to do housework, which I have only done some of, before I sat down to write the blog...). On the way home, I was so excited, as I saw one of my favourite ever cars, and oneday, I am going to have one....


mmmmmmmmmm *drrooooolllll* FORD GT-P.... mine is gonna be black with a gold racing stripe on it though... *sigh*...... one can dream, *sigh* ....one can dream!

Sorry its been a while between blogs, last time I went to write one, well.... it wouldnt let me do anything, so I gave up!

Mike and I went to the block on Monday to see what was going on.

Looks like, its been pretty windy up there, as the port-a-loo was blown over.... ewwwwwwww.... glad I dont have to be the sorry soul who has to clean that up!!!!

Not much else had been done since Friday when we were up there. More bricks had gone up on the house on Friday, so that was great to see!

We went through the house, and even though it isnt finished, and not all the windows are in, and it was also quite windy up there, the house on the inside was quite warm! Always a good sign!

Spontaneous trip to the block...

Mike got home early today, so we went for a drive up the block, and how exciting to see more bricks up.....

We also have A GARAGE DOOR!! *woot*

We have one completed side of the house done, this is the area that floods very easily, so I am guessing that they got stuck into this side and got it done before it rains and floods the area again!!

Mike went out to the entertainment area, to check out the soffit, which is looking really nice. We also had a breeze up there, but in the entertainment area there was no breeze, so we have positioned the house properly for the prevailing wind.


There is also lots of waterproof wrap around all the windows and doors. Mike said it will prevent some wind getting through as well!


I also had to check out my spa bath again, I really cannot wait to use it!! Mike wondered if they had put the pump in yet, and here it is!
