Roof Trusses!

We have some roof trusses up on the roof of the house! The trusses are over mine and Mike's bedroom! YAY! Have just been up to have a look.




The shed is also NEARLY finished! I think they stopped work for a bit this morning, as we are meant to have a slide window in the back of the shed, but they put in a different type of window instead, no problem there I dont think! So they should have that ready this afternoon. I will go up to the block later on again today to have another look at the finished shed (I hope!!).

Whilst I was up the block, a funny thing happened.... one of the house builders rings up [I am guessing] the Project Manager, and he says "The owners of this place, have people up here building a shed, and the shed guys are using our bin!".... I look at him as he says this, and he turns away rather quickly.....like.... wtf? I think that is kinda petty! Im sure the shed guys are using their dunny up there as well.... I mean.... what do they want them to do, pay a toll everytime they use the dunny as well? or make a mess on my property??? BAH!!! I dont get it! The house builders in turn rang the shed builders....... and are sorting something out.......

We went up to the property with Mike's Dad today, and he is very impressed with the building work that is happening on the house. So we are pleased with that!

They have now boarded up some of the house with ply wood, and were getting the crane in this afternoon to lift up the roofing trusses onto the roof. They will put them all together tomorrow, so a trip up there for me to take more photos!




We also checked out the shed. The builder was putting in windows today and the Ranch Slider. They had also gotten the spare parts that were missing (ie for the roof), so the roof is now complete. The roller doors were showing up this afternoon also, for him (I guess he will be getting some help lol) to put them up. They had also done some of the down pipes from the roof as well.




We also rang Telecom today, for them to connect our telephone line.... like what a rip off.... another several hundred dollars later... and they will connect our telephone line this Friday. We will then get our phone company to connect our phone line for us! That will probably cost us ANOTHER connection fee.... dont they make enough money from us with all our phone calls overseas????

Anyway.... stay tuned.... !! :)

Nearly a roof on the shed.....

Apart from the fact that they did not order enough sheets to do the roof for the shed.... They didnt order enough other bits that go onto the shed roof either, cant remember what he told me they were (not the guttering though).... so those parts are on order, the windows and roller doors and Ranch Slider will go in tomorrow... then who bloody knows about the roof bits??!!! Argh.... Who said I wanted to move??? :|






The house builders were up there as well, and they were bracing the house for the roof to go on.

So again, lots of progress up there! :)

Grumpy .....without Snow White and the other 6 dwarfs!

Up at the block today, I decided I would ask the guys doing the shed, how it was all going... well... apparently Grumpy was up there, and he forgot to bring Snow White and the other six dwarfs with him........... *grumble grumble grumble*

Shed progress is going particularly slowly, as it is still quite windy, as I have said before, YOU GET THAT IN A HIGH WIND ZONE!!!!!! >:| So Grumpy, informed me that he wasnt happy about the wind, and that he might have to take down one part of the shed, and redo it as it seemed to have deformed with the wind, as they had not put the strop up.... not really my problem... just FIX IT!

The house builders also seemed to be back at the house, doing god knows what, didnt look like they were doing anything... so off I went to my scrapbooking class.

On the way home, I stopped by again, and the shed builders had put up two more walls, and had put a window in place, and also cut some of the frame for the door.


I went around the house to see what was different there, and they seemed to be working on the Nail plates and the building strap.


OH... and I also went to the tile place to pick up the feature tiles for the kids bathroom. Now... to just decide on what we want in ours, as they dont seem to have any of the ones we want, in stock.... typical really..... :(

So, other than the tile fiasco..... its all good!

The Shed!

Work on the shed is going very slowly as its pretty windy up at our place right now, so it makes it hard to hold down metal sheets and nail them into studs.... and I guess, who really wants their body sliced in half by a flying piece of tin!

Mike and I went up at about 2pm today, and ran into some bulls heading up to the block.. that was exciting!

On arrival at the property, we had noticed The Shed Company had put up a sign on the gate.

We wandered through the house together - during daylight this time lol Mike is pretty impressed with the workmanship on our home! :) We then wandered over to the Shed, to check out the building on that. Mike was also impressed with the shed and how it is all coming together! We had a look at all the bits and pieces that were laying about the site.... so took some exciting pictures of those as well lol

I also found a few booboos by the drainlayer when I was up there (apparently I am not the only one to have had this problem!!)..... they seem to have laid the drains in the wrong position, causing them to be... under the framework... not good eh?!

The guys were up there yesterday doing the shed again, and only managed to put up a couple of sheets, as its too windy up there for them.... I guess ya kinda get that in a High Wind zone.... ;)

Progress Report....

Got our fortnightly progress report via email today.

The builders have stopped work on our property, as they have to go to another property to put windows in for the bricklayers. They will be back on Monday as our house has to be ready for fascia/ spouting and roof on May 3rd. The only framing they seem to have left to do is the roof framing.

I will head out to the block today, and see what the shed builders are up to, as they seemed to have not done much yesterday...... Mike and I went up the block last night, and I walked him around the house, we are both pretty excited about the house and cannot wait to get in there.
